Happy Fathers Day 2017 Poems:

  • I am only three

I’ve learned so many things that you’ve taught me
d things I have to learn will help me grow
d things you’ve taught me surely show
I know that blue and yellow make green
I know one comes first then two then three
I know how to say thank you and ask
4 things by saying pretty please
I know that you love me unconditionally
I know you are my daddy even if you didn’t help mommy make me
because you have have been there no matter what and you’d never 4 shake me
you give me kisses and hold me tight
you calm my fears when I wake frighten at night
you kiss my boots and make the  pain go away
only real daddy’s and mommy’s I have that gift I’d say
you are my daddy and I love you with all my heart
because of you, I and mommy no longer have a hole in our hearts

  • Fathers Day without you is like music

    Muted by a distance undisturbed.
It is so faint I cannot tell d feeling,
Though I myself am gripped with pensive sorrow.
I listen all the more for what I cannot
Hear, and you are somewhere close beside me.
It’s joy! you say, and the I nod, unbending,
Listening still while weeping like fine rain.
Yes, its joy, and you again are with me.
I turn to you, and I am in your arms.
the music is a rhapsody around me,
And I am safe again and free to cry.
It is so beautiful, I cannot stand it,
I am a torrent, shaking in my gladness,
And you recede, as distant as d music,
Smiling dimly far across the plain.
Please, please! I say, yet know that whaI’mIm asking
No longer is. Your day will come and go,
And I will crave and fear its restless turning
Because my happiness must be my pain.

  • Daddy, I love you

    for all that you do.
Ill kiss you and hug you
    cause you love me, too
You feed me and need me
    To teach you to play,
So smile, cause I love you

  • On this fathers day.

    Children need a Daddy
    4 many, many things:
Like holding them high off d ground
    Where d sunlight sings!
    Like being d deep music
that tells dm all is right
    When they awaken frantic with
    the terrors of the night.
    Like being d great mountain
    that rises in their hearts
And shows dm how they might get home
    When all else falls apart.
    Like giving them d love
that is their sea and air,
So diving deep or soaring high
    they’ll always find him there.

  • Close your eyes my pet, I will sing 4 you,

its a lullaby I never knew,
in dis world you know, some things must come and go,
but my world is all in loving you.
Its a simple song, and its words are true,
and Ill do the best that I can do,
as I write dis song, how can the words be wrong,
when they are all about my loving you?
Youve got Mommys eyes, and now I realize
God has blessed my world with loving you,
youve got Daddys nose, a joke I suppose,
but its still, what makes up you.
As you close your eyes, heres a prayer or two,
While you sleep I will be here 4 you.
Things might come and go, but dis youll always know,
Daddys lullaby is just 4 you.

  • A Dad is a person

    who is loving and kind,
    And often he knows
what you have on your mind.
    He’s someone who listens,
    suggests, and defends.
    A dad can be one
    of your very best friends!
    He’s proud of your triumphs,
    but when things go wrong,
    A dad can be patient
    and helpful and strong
    In all that you do,
    a dad’s love plays a part.
Dres always a place 4 him
    deep in your heart.
    And each year that passes,
    you’re even more glad,
    More grateful and proud
just to call him your dad!
    Thank you, Dad
    4 listening and caring,
    4 giving and sharing,
but, especially, 4 just being you!
    Happy Fathers Day.

  • Walk a little slower daddy, said a child so small.

    I’m following in your footsteps
and I don’t want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast,
    Sometimes they are hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
    4 you are leading me.
Someday when I all grow up,
    You’re what I want to be;
then I will have a little child
    Who’ll want to follow me?
And I would want to lead just right,
    And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
    4 I must follow you.

  • Love so true, a father gives

    his children are, 4ever his.
    From cradle, into adulthood
gives shelter, in d deepest flood.
His arm embraces you so tender
4 love so true, will always render.
    Compassion, in his loving eyes
    4giveness, from d heart inside.
the strictest measure, he will place
conduct his home, with all his grace.
    Respect his person, dearest child
Your father always, by your side

  • that Fathers day d sun was bright,

    the morning promised joy
I felt d trill of Fathers day
    Like every little boy
    I still am very little,
    But even I could see,
that something wasn’t right that day
Oh dear, what could it be?
My Daddy was away that day
And all the whole year through
    My Daddy over in Iraq
    To safe-keep me & you
My Mommy told me not to cry
She told me to be strong
She knew that I would understand
    Although dis year proves long
that morning I woke up with glee
I knew just what to do
I had to do Daddy would
If he could be here too
I took a bath quite leisurely
    I dressed my very best
    Grandpa set d B-B-Q
And I did all d rest
    Mommy cooked d bacon
    But Grandma worked d most
She knew if she left Mommy there
We’d have to eat burnt toast
    We filmed our little holiday
    So Daddy could share too
We wanted him to feel at home
I think it worked, don’t you?
    We ate up Daddy’s breakfast
I thought that it looked yummy
I think that Mommy knew to share
When she heard my hungry tummy
We opened Daddy gifts and cards
He must like mine the best
I know if he were here dis day
He’d squeeze me to his chest
    Mommy said she missed him
that she wished he was at home
But if I could have talked to her
    She’d know we weren’t alone
    I couldn’t see quite clearly
But the feeling was just right
    My Daddy stood beside her
And he guarded us all night

  • He stood alone upon a hill

as d clouds burst with fury
    drenching him.
His mind was shaken but very clear
of the reason he was standing here,
His father died the older day
and he wanted to be as close to heaven
    as he could be.

  • A light appeared in the darkened sky

bringing hope to him as he stood by.
An angel came down from up above
To give him hope 4 the ones
Your father has a place up here
he softly said as he disappeared.

  • Now I know that he’s at rest

I can plan my life as he knew best.
But I’ll never 4get that rainy day
When the Angel of d lord
    took my Father away.

  • What will happen if there are no fathers in the world?

If there are no fathers in the world, who would teach me about God?
And spank me with a rod
Who would kiss me at night?
And play with me a fight
    Who would understand me always?
And scold me in many ways
Who would love me very dearly?
    And fear the Lord strongly
Who would feed me delicious food?
And discipline me to be good
All these things won’t happen without you by my side
    Happy Fathers Day!!!

  • Little I knew, what dreams to dream

But an inner urge always pushed me
    to break free.d strong frontier
To build my nest.far or near
My inner light caught d auburn highlights
Of my intricate thought my subconscious far-sight
the pillar of my strength my dad caught me
there i went.an Indian student to Aussie
A speeding child careened passed me
As I take a leap of faith to the University
thoughtless ignorant and cruel remarks came
there i stood but ..not drained in shame
    the tough gritty..strikingly beautiful place
with its soaring buildings and ornate bridges.
the vast parks were quiet and still.
the whole neighborhood touched in the emerald hill.
No din and bustle no rickshaw tinkling.
no trams..no sweat no girlfriend winking.
I stood alone in my Indian outfit
My eyes moistened with undaunted spirit
I walked through d foyer with its high ceiling and mosaic
the wooden door stained with a panel of cloudy glass.
struggling to change the world’s perception
with persistent patience, I still stand amass.
my courage, my will, my passion..my zeal
my anxiety..my fears my fist and inner fury.
made me win the battle.I fought at length.
    I stand nowWarrior..in d Sanctuary

  • God took the strength of a mountain,

    the majesty of a tree,
the warmth of a summer sun,
Dad calm of a quiet sea,
    the generous soul of nature,
    the compting arm of night,
    the wisdom of ages,
the power of the eagles’ flight,
the joy of a spring morning,
the faith of a mustard seed,
And the depth of a family need.
    the God combined these qualities
And there was nothing more to add.
He knew his masterpiece was complete
And so he called it DAD.

  • Dad, Father, Papa

    Are some of the names
    You are called
    But whichever is used
One thing always remain d same
    We celebrate one wonderful person
    every Fathers Day

  • You Never
    You never said I’m leaving
    You never said goodbye
You were gone before I knew it,
    And only God knew why
A million times I needed you,
    A million times I cried
If Love alone could have saved you,
    You never would have died
In Life I loved you dearly
In death I love you still
In my heart you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill
It broke my heart to lose you,
    But you didn’t go alone
For part of me went with you,
The day God took you home.

  • God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you,
    and whispered, “Come to Me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you,
    we watched you fade away.
    Although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
    A golden heart stopped beating,
    hard working hands now rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
    He only takes the best.
